Public activity suspended on AIS Canberra campus

The AIS campus in Canberra is suspending public activity on the site in an effort to create the safest possible training environment for Australian athletes in the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and to mitigate risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Focus on mental health of elite athletes a must

'Elite athletes need to be routinely screened for mental health symptoms' is one of the key findings of an Orygen survey of 749 AIS-supported athletes, with one in five reporting they had previously sought treatment for a mental health problem.

Aussie Stingers back home at AIS keep Olympic dreams on track

With the Coronavirus causing disruption around the globe, the Aussie Stingers Water Polo team has elected to go into camp at their “second home” the Australian Institute of Sport instead of travelling to Europe for competition and training.

Honouring Melissa Breen's Australian track record at the AIS

On 9 February 2014, a 23-year-old Melissa Breen broke the National Australian Women’s 100m record at the AIS track. When the track was upgraded, we were able to create a memento of the achievement.
