Robert Dalton appointed Acting CEO of Sport Australia

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Board has appointed Robert Dalton as Acting CEO of Sport Australia for the coming months. Rob commenced in the role on Monday 3 February 2020.

Rob brings a wealth of experience to Sport Australia, with 25 years as a Senior Partner at EY where he focused on leadership, governance, strategy, audit and entrepreneurship. Rob has also been actively involved in sport having been a representative hockey player for 15 years, non-Executive Director of the Richmond Football Club for 15 years and Chair of Hockey Victoria. Rob has stood down from his Hockey Victoria role while Acting CEO of Sport Australia.

Rob has also worked closely with the ASC having been an independent member of the organisations Finance Audit and Risk committee for the last eight years.

Everyone at the ASC wishes to thank Kate Palmer for her leadership as CEO over the past three years and for her passion and contribution to Australian sport more generally over many years.

The ASC Board will commence formal recruitment activities for a new Sport Australia CEO in the coming months and keep you informed of progress.
