The Australian Sports Commission has paid tribute to renowned sports reporter Rebecca Wilson, who passed away after a battle with cancer, aged 54.
As a pioneer for female sport reporters in Australia, Rebecca’s passion was unrivalled. She wrote and spoke with courage and conviction and will be sadly missed.
During her award-winning career, which spanned more than 30 years with News Corp, Rebecca broke countless stories and penned fearless opinion columns and editorials.
Her talent saw her succeed across all forms of media and she was a regular on television and radio through the decades.
Rebecca has been an inspiration to many female sport reporters and her memory will inspire many more to join the fold and communicate with the courage and passion which defined her career.
The Australian Sports Commission extends its deepest sympathy to Rebecca’s husband John and her sons Tom and Will.
