Shuttle Time is designed to provide a positive badminton experience for children and youth through a fun, engaging and social environment. The program helps participants experience success in a safe and inclusive environment regardless of their ability.

Shuttle Time

The Shuttle Time program combines a range of fun physical activities whilst learning the technical and tactical elements of the game. This includes the development of hand-eye coordination, catching and throwing, stability and balance, speed and agility as well as jumping and landing skills.
The program can be adapted to meet individual school requirements and Badminton Australia qualified deliverers can assist schools to deliver badminton activities as part of Sporting Schools.
Packages available range from 4-8 sessions in duration and include coach and teacher delivered options:
- Shuttle Time Starter
- Shuttle Time Xpert

Equipment

Schools can purchase a school badminton set from Badminton Australia to use within their Sporting Schools program for $535 plus delivery costs.
Each badminton equipment set includes:
- 20 racquets
- 36 shuttles
- 2 nets
Additional equipment may also be purchased upon request.

Teachers
To deliver badminton as a teacher, you need to meet the requirements below:
- Hold a valid state and/or territory teacher registration
- Be employed at the school
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Completed the Teacher-Delivered Badminton Program
Coaches
To deliver badminton as a coach, you need to meet the below requirements:
- Registered in OfficialsHQ as a coach and connected to a provider, SSO or NSO
- Be aged 16 years or over
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (paid check) or relevant exemption
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Coach terms and conditions
To deliver on behalf of Badminton Australia & our State Sporting Organisations, coaches need to:
- Be connected to an endorsed provider, SSO or NSO in OfficialsHQ
- Level 1 Badminton Coach Qualification; or
- Shuttle Time Teacher Certification.
Coaching Providers
To deliver badminton as a provider organisation, you need to meet the below requirements:
- Registered as a provider in OfficialsHQ
- Hold a valid ABN or declare ABN exempt
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Provider Guidelines and Provider organisation terms and conditions
- Meet safety assessment (as determined by the NSO)
To be an endorsed provider for badminton and deliver on behalf of Badminton Australia, providers must also meet the requirements below:
- Agree to Memorandum of Understanding with NSO/SSO
NOTE: All coaches that deliver under any provider must be registered and meet coach registration minimum requirements.
