Aunty Agnes was awarded an Order of Australia Medal and ACT Chief Minister’s Senior Citizen of the Year for her advocacy and bringing positive change for Aboriginal People and her community.

ASC CEO, Kieren Perkins OAM has extended his condolences to the Ngunnawal community.

“Aunty Agnes was a Matriarch and strong leader for the Ngunnawal community. As an organisation we pay deep respects to the Ngunnawal community as so much of our own history is entwined with Ngunnawal Country.”

The ASC’s head office, the Australian Institute of Sport site has been located on Ngunnawal Country since 1981.
