The Win Well Para Uplift Steering Group will play a key role in supporting the implementation of system-wide initiatives, including better classification opportunities, access to fit-for-purpose training environments, and specialised coaching and performance support.

The Para Uplift project is thanks to historic funding announced by the Australian Government in June this year.

The $283 million investment included the biggest ever Paralympic spend to address systemic and structural barriers to performance for Para athletes, with the $54.9 million additional Para sport funding doubling existing support.

The Win Well Para Uplift Steering group EOIs are open until 1200 (AEDT) Friday 13 December 2024, with the group to consist of:

  • One x National Sporting Organisation Chief Executive of a Paralympic or Commonwealth Games sport that features a Para discipline
  • One x National Sporting Organisation Performance Director of a Paralympic or Commonwealth Games sport that features a Para discipline
  • Two x Para Athlete representatives
  • One x High Performance Coach with experience in Para sport
