Pacific region looking to home Games advantage in 2032

Earlier this month the Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC) visited the AIS campus to discuss the opportunities the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring to the region.

ASC CEO Kieren Perkins, Executive General Manager of AIS Performance Matti Clements, and ASC Chief of Staff Brooke De Landre met with ONOC President Dr Robin Mitchell and ONOC Programme Lead for Brisbane 2032 Performance Partnerships Atma Maharaj.

In partnership with the ONOC, the ASC supports the goal of the Pacific region achieving unprecedented success, taking full advantage of a home Games which has the potential to make a significant and long-term impact for the whole region.

This week AIS High Performance Coach Development Senior Lead Michelle De Highden  and Leadership and Culture Consultant Liam Gooley will present at ONOC's "Step Up Oceania" Conference in Brisbane. The event will bring together a wide cross section of sport stakeholders from the Pacific and Oceania region, as well as other sporting, government and academic stakeholders.

Heading down the green and gold runway the Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy remains at the forefront of Australian Sport and aims to ultimately build ongoing and sustainable success towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
