Flag Football is the newest Olympic Sport and will feature at the LA 2028 games! Our goal is to ignite a passion for American football by introducing students to Flag Football through engaging activities and games and are excited to have the opportunity to collaborate closely with schools across Australia. Flag Football
The American Football Australia flag football coach-delivered and teacher-led programs for infants & primary (Foundation – Year 6) and Secondary (Year 7 & 8):
Primary
The Primary School Flag Football program is designed to offer students an exceptional learning and playing journey.
We offer 2 packages for primary schools:
- Foundation – Year 2
- Year 3 – Year 6
With a focus on skill enhancement through modified games using the game-sense approach to learning, our sessions accommodate all students regardless of their experience or ability levels.
We offer both coach-delivered and teacher-led programs to suit your school's needs.
Secondary
The Secondary Flag Football program adopts a game-based approach to introduce students to the exciting world of flag football.
From mastering snaps to perfecting throws and catches, students are engaged right from the beginning of the program. Sessions are tailored for all levels of experience and ability.
The secondary school package caters for students in Years 7 & 8. We offer both coach-delivered and teacher-led programs to ensure flexibility and inclusivity.
Schools have the option to order flag football school equipment packs for primary and secondary schools as detailed below. The packs include equipment required to assist with the delivery of sessions together with access to the education portal to access the teacher resources.
Equipment kits can be purchased through the Sporting Schools booking system as an add-on, however, if you wish to purchase equipment independently from Sporting Schools funding please email info@bringitonsports.com.au

Teachers
To deliver American football as a teacher, you need to meet the requirements below:
- Hold a valid state and/or territory teacher registration
- Be employed at the school
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
Coaches
To deliver American Football as a coach, you need to meet the below requirements:
- Registered in OfficialsHQ as a coach and connected to a provider, SSO or NSO
- Be aged 16 years or over
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (paid check) or relevant exemption
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Coach terms and conditions
To deliver on behalf of American Football Australia coaches need to:
- Be employed by Bring it on Sports and be registered in OfficialsHQ as a coach
- Complete the Community Coaching - Essential Skills Course
Coaching Providers
To deliver American football as a provider organisation, you need to meet the below requirements:
- Registered as a provider in OfficialsHQ
- Hold a valid ABN or declare ABN exempt
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Provider Guidelines and Provider organisation terms and conditions
- Meet safety assessment (as determined by the NSO)
American Football Australia coordinates all Sporting Schools programs through Bring it on Sports and at this stage does not require or endorse other external providers.
NOTE: All coaches that deliver under any provider must be registered and meet coach registration minimum requirements.
Teacher resources

The Teachers Online Resource Pack includes a comprehensive 4-week and 8-week program including all activities, games, lessons, skill descriptions, delivery tips and suggested modifications to support the successful delivery of these programs.

Secondary Playbook - $165 (inc GST)
Enhance your students' sports journey with our premium selection of 32 dynamic and inspiring activities and games tailored for secondary students in Years 7 and 8.
The relevant resource pack is provided to teachers who book a teacher-led program through the Sporting Schools booking system. Once purchased, teachers will gain access to the education portal to unlock this fantastic digital resource.
