Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia are pleased to offer MyGolf in Sporting Schools, Australia’s national introductory program to develop and promote junior participation in golf.

In addition, secondary schools can access Golf Australia’s secondary schools program designed to engage students through fun, challenging student-led activities.

Primary School Programs

MyGolf Sporting Schools is a fully flexible program that can be tailored to suit your school’s needs. A minimum four sessions is required and there is no maximum number of sessions. A visit to your local golf club or facility is recommended, however is optional.

MyGolf Sporting Schools programs can be delivered by Golf Australia accredited coaches or teachers are also welcome to deliver.

Online training is available for teachers to become accredited MyGolf Schools community instructors, however is not compulsory. The cost of this is $99 and can be covered through Sporting Schools funding.

Secondary School Programs

Golf Australia’s secondary sporting schools program is a five session program that offers flexibility for teachers and coaches to allow a range of delivery methods and engagement strategies to best teach the skills of golf in the secondary school environment.

The program includes three skill development sessions where students will learn the three swings in golf:

  • putting
  • chipping
  • full swing

There is also a session of strategic games and a session of game play conducted through fun, challenging student-led activities. Schools also have the option to incorporate a golf fitness component to the program to increase physical activity.

Equipment

A range of equipment kits are available via the MyGolf Online Store where you can create your own account and purchase the equipment required for your Sporting Schools program.

You will have access to School Equipment Kits, however if you require individual equipment please contact Golf Australia at mygolfschools@golf.org.au.

The MyGolf School Golf Kit for Primary Schools (lower and upper primary kit options) include:

  • 10 x 7-Irons
  • 10 x Putters
  • 100 x PVC Golf Balls
  • 10 x Hitting Mats
  • 10 x Putting Targets
  • 1 x Equipment Bag

The MyGolf Secondary Kit includes:

  • 8 x Modified 7 Iron RH 13-16
  • 2 x Modified 7 Iron LH 13-16
  • 10 x Modified Putter 11-12
  • 1 x PVC Ball pack of 100 in net bag
  • 10 x Hitting Mat with Rubber Tee
  • 10 x Putting Targets
  • 1 x Equipment Bag

Coaching Providers

Sporting Schools is an Australia-wide program in partnership with over 30 national sporting organisations (NSO), of which Golf Australia are one.

Golf Australia coordinates all Sporting Schools programs and do not require external coaching providers. For further information please contact Golf Australia.

Golf Australia Resources

Resource manuals and access to the MyGolf School Coaching Resource App for iPad are available through Golf Australia. In order to access these interactive resources on the MyGolf website, you will need to either be an accredited Community Instructor or sign up to the School Ambassador Program.

MyGolf School Ambassador Program

The MyGolf School Ambassador program aims to support and recognise teachers for their commitment in promoting and delivering MyGolf School programs within their local school community. Registered School Ambassadors will have exclusive access to online curriculum resources, an interactive App for iPad, and will also be offered fantastic giveaways and prizes.
