Lacrosse

Lacrosse Australia’s Quick Stix program is a free-flowing form of lacrosse for students to start learning the game. It is simple to teach and learn, and a perfect sport for both primary and secondary school children.

  • Enjoy a fun environment in which to learn the game of lacrosse
  • Lacrosse combines hand-eye coordination and quick decision making
  • Enjoy the positive social experience that team sports provide
  • Join a pathway which can transition children into club-based competitive lacrosse at youth level
  • Be introduced to one of the fastest growing international sports that is played in over 50 countries world-wide.

Primary School Program

Quick Stix focuses on the three basic lacrosse skills: scooping, catching and throwing. From this starting point, kids can move onto team play and game rules. In other words, kids learn to love the sport before they take on its technicalities. All programs come with the Quick Stix Session & Training Guide which can be used to help run the program and as a future resource.

Secondary School Program

The Quick Stix program is modified further to cater for Year 7 and 8 students. The Quick Stix 3 on 3 program is designed for secondary school students to learn lacrosse in a progressive style with plenty of engaging activities. Lacrosse is the ‘fastest game on two feet’ and the 3 on 3 version takes student involvement to new levels. Students are never out of the play, but if they don’t want to keep up with the super-fast pace, there are plenty of ways to still be involved without breaking a sweat.

Lacrosse Australia Resources

The Quick Stix program includes a teaching guide that teachers and coaches can follow. It doesn’t matter if you have never played (or even seen) a lacrosse game. The video guide explains the terms and rules of lacrosse, and runs through the different skill levels, techniques and tactic variations.

The teaching guide also helps to adapt the program to students of different ages and different skills levels and keep them engaged.

Included in our teaching guide are:

  • Lesson plans
  • Videos to show techniques
  • Equipment lists
  • Optional extras (if the students are going really well!)

Visit Quick Stix for further information.
