Taekwondo

Taekwondo Kickstarters is a fun and engaging program that introduces children of all abilities to the dynamic world of martial arts. Children learn the fundamental skills of taekwondo - strength, agility and coordination in a safe and fun environment while exploring this curriculum aligned program.

This exciting new program gives children a fun, first taekwondo experience and encourages children to develop confidence, focus and physical discipline which they can apply in all areas of their lives.

Primary school students benefit from developing and exploring fundamental movement skills and expanding their physical literacy. We believe that this focus supports whole-of-child development and movement for life. Taekwondo is uniquely positioned to deliver on these benefits through the Taekwondo Kickstarters program which focuses on:

  • Teaching introductory taekwondo techniques and learning about the martial art
  • Promoting curriculum-aligned activities that are inclusive and ensures students are physically active
  • Highlighting positive messages targeting social and emotional development
  • Developing students' self-esteem, concentration, focus and discipline
  • Most importantly, cultivating a fun and safe experience for all students!TKD

“Taekwondo offers all the same fun and fitness as many other sports but it is underpinned by a series of tenets that form a whole approach to life. They include courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.”

Ben Exton, Participation Manager, Australian Taekwondo
