Championing women in sport

Over the past 12 months the Australian Sports Commission has championed more than 1,500 women in sport through a range of grants and programs including:

The AIS Accelerate Program: A professional development program which supports women athletes looking to pursue career options in sport.

Female Performance Health Initiative: An educational platform which aims to increase awareness about women athletes’ performance and health considerations.

Women Leaders in Sport Program: A program which aims to empower women in the sport workforce and help organisations achieve gender equity through grants and workshops.

Suncorp Team Girls: A campaign which aims to keep young girls involved in sport through building confidence and showcasing positive role models.

Sporting Schools Program: An Australian Government initiative designed to increase children’s participation in sport and connect them with community sports.

AIS Talent Program: A professional development program which aims to support, retain and progress women in high performance coaching and executive roles.
